In the vast majority of cases there is no requirement for formal Planning Consent on a straightforward garage conversion.
The exact position on this can be established when we contact your Local Authority’s Planning Office. This enquiry is sometimes verbal or written depending on the local authority. A verbal enquiry is normally responded to within 1-2 days and a written enquiry can take up to 10-working days.
In the few instances where Planning permission may be required we will undertake this work on your behalf, instructing one of our architects.
In order to protect your home no conversion will or should take place until all necessary legal consents have been obtained.
